Together with CUFIE, we have developed the University Library's Digital Skills Training Plan for PhD students and teaching and research staff (PDI). In addition to organizing our own training sessions, we have tutorials, guides and (self-)training materials. We also offer customized training to the whole university community.
A face-to-face interactive talk that we repeat every September to introduce ourselves and the library properly: with style, elegance and simplicity. It is aimed at first year students of our faculty, perhaps unfamiliar with the facilities and the wonderful services offered by our library. In 2020, due to the pandemic, we replaced it with this cute video which, fortunately, is getting a bit outdated.
This training session is aimed at students who are starting their Final Degree Project (TFG); we do it twice a year. It focuses on how to search for and manage scientific information, and on providing the ideal sources and tools to face such a titanic task. It does not ignore other important aspects such as the writing and defense of the TFG.

Nowadays ORCID has become a vital tool for researchers from all over the world. This fact has made UDC's Vice-Rectorate for Science Policy, Research and Transfer recommend its PDI to register on this platform. The Library Service staff offer information about this tool and act as a facilitator to create and maintain an ORCID profile.
Turnitin is an anti-plagiarism tool subscribed to by the Interuniversity Consortium of the Galician University System (CISUG). In May 2018, at the suggestion of the Vice-Deanship of Academic Organisation, we prepared a session to talk about this software to the PDI of our faculty. The session presentation still remains valid and we have complemented it with this cool infographic.
The UDC Library, together with CUFIE, has developed a Digital Skills Training Plan for the university community. It specifically provides PhD students and PDI with the neccesary competences and abilities related to information access and the efficient use of it in a digital environment.
At present, the plan offers two blended learning courses aimed only at PhD students and PDI. In the future, we intend to extend the training offer with courses aimed at master's and bachelor's degree students.
The courses currently included in the plan are the following:
