INTERNATIONAL WOMEN´S DAY

Due to the celebration of International Women's Day every 8 March, the library carries out exhibitions in collaboration with the Oficina para a Igualdade de Xénero da UDC in order to visualize and value the literary, scientific and artistic production of different authors.

• 2015. Behind the camera: cinema directed by women. Exhibition of films of almost 100 filmmakers belonging to our audiovisual collection.

CINEMA

Throughout 2010 the library organized a series of monographic exhibitions on International Film Festivals: Cannes, Goya, Oscars, San Sebastián and Venezia.

The selection of works, centered in the period 2004-2009, was accompanied by a previous acquisition of collections about this subject.

25 YEARS OF SOCIOLOGY

In 1992 Sociology degree began in the UDC, the only one in the entire Galician territory, and during the 2016-2017 course commemorations took place.

Our library participated by compiling the scientific production of the teachers who worked and work in this center.

BOAVENTURA DE SOUSA SANTOS

On September 19, 2018, the Portuguese sociologist Boaventura de Sousa Santos was named Douror Honoris Causa by the University of La Coruña. In the library we wanted to take the opportunity to make a bibliographical exhibition with his works, collaborative works, journal articles and documents about his figure that are part of the UDC library collection.
