In order to contribute to a reflection on the aspects necessary to achieve equal rights, we present an anthology of documents that analyze, reflect and make practical proposals for change.
The collected works come from various perspectives, such as eco-feminism, decolonial feminism, feminist economics, feminisms of the global south, the vision of indigenous women, and other proposals from mysticism and spirituality.
We include both reviews of the history of feminist movements and reflections for a global theoretical agenda of feminism, as well as proposals and accounts of projects for change, as well as studies on concrete challenges to global equality.
Today maternity is a problematic and hot issue. Sometimes it is not possible or difficult to be a mother, because conciliation is impossible, the labor market is precarious and delays our decision, due to health, sexual orientation ... Sometimes it is a decision of its own, sometimes social pressure plays a fundamental role, the so-called biological clock ... And sometimes you just don't want to. All this casuistry is combined with the debate about female body autonomy and ethics. For all this, it is well worth reviewing what is written around that subject.
This year on March 8 an unprecedented strike was called in more than 150 countries, an international women's strike to claim a more just and egalitarian society.
In order to support this mobilization and as usual, we select among our abundant feminist collection a series of books and movies that revolve around women and work, women as protagonists of different professions, women and their use of time, public and private sphere in women life and women and the struggle for conquering rights. We also add some contextualizing works on misogyny throughout history because there is nothing better than knowing the obstacles to overcome them.
Although not motivated by March 8, we also pick up here the selection of works chosen for February 11, International Day of Women and Girls in Science.
This set of publications is available through our pinterest board and deals with the subject of "Scientific Women".
In this large format exhibition we exposed the work of 93 women filmmakers, collecting a total of 185 films that we have in our audiovisual collection and bibliographic material about this subject.
You can see the photographs of the exhibition and link the films to the catalog through the pinterest board that we made expressly for the exhibition.
Despite being a large number of authors, many names are missing. How many women directors do you know? We decided to search on the net and this was what we found: 1527 women filmmakers and more than 100 Galician women filmmakers. Take a look at our pinterest boards, where you will find, in addition to their names, links to their websites, vimeo or youtube profiles, information and interviews.
