ACCESS

The collection is located in different zones depending on the access regime:

Direct Access

You can take the documents directly on the shelves.

Restricted Access

It doesn´t mean that they can´t be consulted or borrowed, but we are intermediaries in their access. You need to request the material by providing us its signature or code that you will find in the catalog. Restricted access material includes:

LENDING

You should not confuse access regime with loan conditions. The fact that you can access or not the material directly has nothing to do with being able to borrow it or how much time. Assignment of each of these parameters to each particular document is done for "reasons of conservation, security, copyright and license of use" (Article 29 of the Library Regulation).

In our library documents can have three types of possible loans: normal loan, 3-days loan and material exclusively for use in the library and these types are not grouped in any specific place of the library, but are intercalated throughout the collection. You can differentiate them by the color of the labels and their codes.

Lending regime by kind of book
  • Normal loan (the loan time depends on the type of user)
  • 3-days Loan: some copies of recommended bibliography, thematic dictionaries and encyclopedias and the entire audiovisual collection.
  • Use in the library: usually this type of material are general dictionaries and encyclopedias, or unpublished documents (Bachelor / Master Thesis) or difficult to replace. Periodicals are also included in non-lending material
