Regulations for the use of library facilities
We seek to create an environment that encourages learning and research. So we propose you to review our policy about photograph/film in library facilities, the access with food and drinks, the use of mobiles and regulations about avoiding underlining books.
Photos & recordings
The continuous technological advances have made it easier to take photos and videos anywhere. Aware of this, we indicate the guidelines you must follow when you need to take photographs and / or videos in the library facilities.
In general, it´s allowed to photograph/film any of the library facilities in public access keeping in mind that the material obtained will be used in a class work, interview, visit or any activity organized by UDC.
The Library does not accept responsibility for the use of photos and/or films that result from this activity.
People taking photos or shooting movies must::
• Request permission from the library staff through this form in case you plan to extend the activity and may inconvenience other users who are in the library at that moment.
• Request permission from the users who are at that moment in the library avoiding captures of images that may identify them in case these users express their consent not to be included in photos/recordings.
Food & drinks
In order to create the most pleasant environment possible and maintain a balance between the comfort of users and the protection of collections and facilities, please follow the following guidelines:
Food is not allowed in the library facilities
Water, coffee and soft drinks are allowed only if they are in spill-proof containers and are not used near the computer equipment or the shelves that house the collection of books / magazines. You can find in the library specific containers so they should never be thrown away in the bins.
Library staff may require compliance with these guidelines to any user who does not follow them and may request him/her to leave the library if he/she persists in his/her behavior.
Mobiles
Access the library with the mobile silenced. If you receive a call please leave the library to attend it.
Smoking
According to current regulations, smoking is not permitted in any of the library facilities.

2.1.1. Prohibición expresa de fumar en los siguientes lugares:
2.1.1.1. Facultades, escuelas, edificios administrativos y comedores: almacenes, ascensores, aseos, auditorios, aulas, bibliotecas y salas de estudio, cafeterías (una zona específica) comedores, conserjerías, despachos (cuando sean compartidos por algún no fumador), laboratorios, corredores, reprografía, salas de reuniones, secretarías administrativas y académicas.
Not underline / not make notes
The underlining and the annotations in a book are something very personal, besides a book underlined by another person makes difficult the comprehension of the text. It is not allowed to underline, make notes, or tear pages. The material of the library is a common good so it is everyone's responsibility to keep it in perfect condition. Let´s collaborate to keep intact the bibliographic material, the furniture and the facilities of the library.
