I was born in Belfast and grew up in New York and studied English language and literature at the University of London. I then worked for Queen´s University (Belfast) and the University of Wales at Aberystwyth before joining UDC in 1992.  

I particularly enjoy interacting with learners and drawing on their experience to promote language expression. 

Apart from teaching, I enjoy cooking, playing the guitar and living in Galicia.
