Plan de formación en competencias transversais para persoal predoutoral e posdoutoral (PFCTPD)

One of the key goals of the University of A Coruña, as outlined in its 2022-2026 Stategic Plan , is to continuously enhance the quality of its research to maintain its role as a catalyst for knowledge transfer and societal advancement.

To achieve this, it is essential to equip both predoctoral and postdoctoral researchers with transversal competencies, which are crucial for their professional development and extend beyond their specific fields of study.

The Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT), in its 2022 White Paper resulting from the European Discovery Learning project, emphasized the need to develop transversal competencies related to open science and innovation. These competencies include managing information, thinking autonomously and critically, communicating effectively, demonstrating resilience, and other abilities commonly referred to as soft skills.

The document also recommends adopting a methodology tailored to the current needs of this group, promoting more interactive learning experiences to foster these types of competencies.

This training plan, developed jointly by the Research Staff Recruitment Officer (OCPI) and the University Center for Educational Training and Innovation (CUFIE), is designed to progressively deepen participants' knowledge and skills. It culminates in a final stage that incorporates mentoring as a key support mechanism throughout the process. The program adopts a blended learning approach, combining group instruction with personalized individual sessions.
