The European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers are the documents from the European Union that set out the rules for the universities and research institutions to improve the working conditions of researchers, making more appealing the research career in Europe.
The Charter contains 40 principles that define the responsibilities and rights for researchers and the entities that employ and/or fund them. These principles are grouped in 4 categories:
The Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers consists of a series of principles that employers and/or funders must follow when hiring researchers.
