Dr. Naci Polat works as full Professor at Tourism Faculty of Pamukkale University (Turkey) at Tourism Guidance Department and specializing in sustainable tourism, tourism marketing and tourism guidance. He received his master degree in development policy at the University of Bremen. He finished his PhD in management at Dumlupınar University. As EU Jean Monnet Scholar, he made researches on ecological management and audit scheme at the University of Trier. He co-finished an EU-project on sustainability and competitiveness of tourism SMEs in Europe in 2012. As a visiting professor, he lectured at BA and MBA programmes of Jaén University in 2017. During the Spring semester 2023, he was teaching at IPB in Portugal as a visiting professor. He has long years of working experience in different tourism companies such as Turkish Airlines and Mövenpick Hotel. He had the country responsibility of Erasmus+ transnational project ‘SILVHER’ and member of COST action ‘Underground Built Heritage as catalyser for Community Valorisation’.
