ELT Product Design

Course Overview

The course is designed as workshop series to improve English language teachers in their capacity for teaching methodology and curriculum design. The training will focus on 6 areas of language education: course design and lesson planning, assessment strategies, communicative lessons and activities development, and creating and adapting classroom materials for intercultural communication, digital learning with authentic resources, vocabulary and grammar plus pronunciation leading to communication.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completing this course, teacher participants will be able to:

  • Design a course/ a module/ a collection of communicative activities and accompanying lesson plans based on Constructive Alignment Theory.
  • Discuss and apply various student assessment strategies.
  • Demonstrate the use of a variety of communicative activities and incorporate them into a lesson plan
  • Create and adapt modern, dynamic classroom materials for intercultural communication
  • Demonstrate the use of a variety of digital educational tools and resources in their teaching contexts

Instructional Method

Each class is a workshop which lets the learners revise theory and apply it in practice. Group work, pairwork, individual work are applied within critical thinking and collaborative learning activities

Individual laptops/PC; connection to the Internet, overhead projector,

Possibility to change seating arrangement in the classroom

Assessment

In order to take advantage of this course, presence and active participation is expected.

Attendance and competition rate of 70%
