  1. What made you decide to attend the summer school?
  • I was looking for a summer school that would enrich my knowledge in regard to writing scientific articles and improving my Academic English, and the courses I found at ISS A Coruna seemed perfect for me! Besides, the location was an additional factor that inspired me to apply.
  1. Why do you think it is important for students to take advantage of international opportunities during their studies?
  • For me personally, the experience at ISS really made me expand my knowledge about different cultures, be more open minded and flexible with people from different countries, taught me how to collaborate in a group, and of course, I learnt something about more about the northern part of Spain. Besides the theoretical knowledge that I gained at the summer school, I believe this experience contributed to improving my social skills. Because of this, I believe it is essential for each student to have at least one international experience during their studies.
  1. How will you share the knowledge and skills gained at the summer school now you are back in your home country?
  • During the summer school I learnt how to do 3 minute presentations and write scientific abstracts. This might be specific for my profile so I would recommend my ISS course to my collegues. But to the rest of my friends I would talk a lot about the social aspects from the summer school and how they contributed to my personal and overall development.
  1. Did your experience here in Coruna meet your expectations?
  • Yes it did! I think that if the courses are a bit longer that could contribute even more to the quality of the courses and to deepening our knowledge even more.
  1. What will you miss the most from Coruna?
  • Some of the friendships that I made there, the kindness of the people, the ocean, the cold summer breeze, the food, the peculiar culture of the Galician region…
