Created in 1989 with an innovative approach, the University of A Coruña is committed to its future through the development of international research based on quality and contributing to the cultural, social and economic progress of society.
It is a modern, innovative and dynamic institution that is firmly committed to the integral education of its students: to the wide and solid academic offer are added specific cultural, cooperation, equality, leisure and sports programmes, among others.
It is structured in two campuses: the one in A Coruña and the one in Ferrol, with different degrees in each of them, and located in two wonderful cities by the sea.
The University of A Coruña considers its internationalisation to be a priority. Attracting talent is therefore essential, as it allows it to attract highly qualified researchers from all over the world, creating a diverse and competitive academic environment. Through various calls for applications, centralised in the OCPI, the UDC focuses on attracting scientists with excellent careers, such as the beneficiaries of Ramón y Cajal, Beatriz Galindo, MSCA Actions, ERC Grants... This not only strengthens the university's capacity to carry out advanced research, but also increases its international visibility, fostering strategic collaborations with other institutions. The effort to attract and retain research talent has a positive impact on the scientific projection of the university, allowing the consolidation of emerging and strategic research areas that are key to the growth of the university.
SCIENTIFIC OPPORTUNITY
Despite its youth, the UDC has many outstanding researchers in its research areas. It also has a technology park with different research centres and university institutes that cover a wide range of fields of knowledge.
SOCIAL OPPORTUNITY
The UDC is structured in two university campuses of A Coruña and Ferrol. Both cities are welcoming enclaves open to the sea, with a pleasant climate that is easy to adapt to.
ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY
It is a university with a healthy economy that promotes the efficient use of its resources, both from an economic and environmental point of view.
The University of A Coruña is territorially structured in the Campus of A Coruña and the Campus of Ferrol, which allows it to have an excellent social environment in two cities located on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. These cities offer a series of attractions, unique in Spain, which make them a privileged place to combine work with an excellent quality of life, thanks to a modern network of services and a wide range of leisure activities for all tastes.
In both cities you can enjoy a full calendar of social and cultural events throughout the year, such as philharmonic orchestras, concerts, festivals, exhibitions, artistic events, among others. There is also a wide range of sports facilities, covered by numerous public and private facilities, nautical facilities, etc. Finally, it is important to highlight that both cities are located in the region of Galicia, one of the safest regions in Spain.
