New European Bauhaus Principles

The New European Bauhaus (NEB) is a green transition facilitator that aims to transform different economic sectors, especially the built environment, to contribute to our climate goals and improve everyone's quality of life. It calls on all Europeans to imagine and build together a sustainable, inclusive and beautiful future.

The New European Bauhaus demonstrates the benefits of environmental transformation through tangible experiences at local level. It provides space for creation and experimentation based on:

- Aesthetics, quality of experience and style, beyondfunctionality;

- Sustainability, from climate targets to circularity, zero pollution and biodiversity;

- Inclusion, from valuing diversity and equality for all to ensuring accessibility and affordability.

A very useful tool for implementing the NEB principles in SEALabHaus is the NEB Compass. This tool identifies the key characteristics of exemplary projects and the three possible directions of change (Together, Sustainable, Beautiful), with three increasing levels of ambition.
