Mobility of UDC research staff

Regulations on the mobility of incoming and outgoing research staff at UDC (approved by the Consello de Goberno on November 4, 2025)
The mobility of doctoral students who carry out temporary stays to conduct research related to their thesis will be regulated by current regulations. More information is available on the International Relations Office (ORI) website Oficina de Relacións Internacionais (ORI):

Outgoing research staff

  • Any person assigned or linked to the UDC who carries out a temporary research stay at an external entity, whether national or international, must notify the Research Management Team (EXI) beforehand by email to catalogo@udc.gal
  • The stay must have a minimum duration of one week and a maximum of one year.
  • Once the stay has ended, and within 15 calendar days, the outgoing researcher must send a document accrediting the stay by email to catalogo@udc.gal, except in cases where the stay was managed by the UDC.
This procedure is not necessary for stays related to participation in conferences, seminars, and similar events, or those lasting less than one week.

Outgoing mobility of teaching and research staff (PDI) undertaking research stays will also be governed by:

Incoming research staff

Prior procedures
  • The incoming researcher must have the approval of a UDC PDI member or research staff member, who must submit an admission request.
  • After the stay is accepted, visiting researchers will receive an official invitation letter, which may be used to apply for a visa.
  • Before arriving at the University, the visiting researcher must send the required documentation by email to catalogo@udc.gal, in accordance with Article 6 of the regulations.

 Upon arrival at UDC
  • The visiting researcher must inform the EXI (by email to catalogo@udc.gal) of the start of the stay. Once authorized and registered, visiting research staff at UDC may access and/or use the University’s general services, such as the library, communication systems, and research support services.

At the end of the stay
  • Visiting researchers registered in the Visiting Research Staff Registry will receive an official certificate of the stay.
Visiting researchers whose mobility is regulated by programs, agreements, or specific arrangements between their home institution and the UDC will be governed by those conditions.
