BSc in Biological Sciences (1997), University of Santiago of Compostela (Spain).

Teaching Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in The University of A Coruña for almost 30 years. I teach several courses in BSc of Biology, MSc of Molecular and Cell Biology and Genetics and MSc Bioinformatics. Supervising Diploma Works for undergraduate students as well as Master and PhD Students.

Predoctoral training

- Institut für Mikrobiologie department of Heinrich-Heine-Universität, Düsseldorf, Germany.

Postdoctoral training:

- LSUMC Louisiana State University Medical Center, Schreveport, LA, USA.

- UMDNJ Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center, Piscataway, NJ, USA.

 Present research interests:

1) Basic research on Transcription and RNA processing mechanisms. Alternative RNA processing and its regulation. Which are de factors regulating the regulated production of mRNA isoforms with different 3´-Untranslated regions (3´-UTR) and different stabilities. Relationship of alternative mRNA transcripts with the respiratory-fermentative metabolism as well as the growth phase.

 2) Yeast biotechnology applications as biosensors to analyze cadmium effects in transcription or recombination identified by biosensors.

3) More recently new regulatory genes for yeast’s Chitin biosynthesis and cytokinesis.
