Dr Israel Temprano was born in La Coruña, he graduated as B.Sc. in Chemistry from Universidade da Coruña in 2003. He obtained his M.Sc. aPhD.D. degrees, on the enantiospecific synthesis and molecular electronics respectively, from Université Laval (Canada) under the supervision of Professor Peter McBreen. In 2009 he was appointed Marie Curie post-doctoral research associate at the University of Liverpool working on materials functionalization with Professor Rasmita Raval. Later that year he moved to the University of Cambridge to work on heterogeneous catalysis with Professor Sir David King and Dr.Stephen Jenkins. In 2016 he joined the group of Professor Clare Grey to develop a novel type of high-performance batteries for the future of automotive industry.
