Required Course Materials
1. Health Information Management and Technology, by Beth Shanholtzer.
2. Information Systems for Healthcare Management 8th Edition: Author(s): Glandon, Gerald L.; Smaltz, Detlev H.; Slovensky, Donna J.
Assessment
Two options provided (either to select one or can be optional for students):
As long as the course duration is 2 weeks, it is recommended to have a test rather than group or individual project. Therefore, a test of information and summative assessment to be given to students at the end of the class. The test will measure the 2 CLOs’ and topics given to students and open ended questions to see the level of students understanding. Exam can be given as paper or electronic.
However, if there a need or interest to have a project, I have created alternative plan for small group project with emphasis on application of digital health in clinical practice in Galicia, Spain. Both assessment and group projects are attached with a separate document. Project can be for group of 3-5 students, can do simple literature search, evaluation, Summary of Results and recommendations. During the course students can work on the project in their second week for 2-3 days and submit it for grading with my close supervision and support. Rubric for project is attached and test model answer is also attached.
