Dr Francesca Delfino

Francesca Delfino is currently an assistant professor and a tutor at the Department of Law within the University Luiss Guido Carli from Rome.

In 2010, she got a Law degree in European Law at the University LUISS Guido Carli and in 2015, a PhD degree in International Law from the University “G. D’Annunzio” (Chieti – Pescara, Italy).

She attended various national and international seminars, congresses, conferences and summer schools in Europe and elsewhere, for deepening her knowledge and expertise in the field of International law and European Union law.

Among others, she attended the Third MARSAFENET Training School on “Law of the Sea and Development”, organized by the University Institute of European Studies “Salvador de Madariaga” of the University of A Coruña. In addition, she was awarded a scholarship granted by the MARSAFENET COST Action budget.

More recently, the International Foundation for the Law of the Sea admitted her to attend the 12th session of the IFLOS Summer Academy 2018 “Promoting Ocean Governance and Peaceful Settlement of Disputes” with a partial scholarship. It was held at the seat of International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea in Hamburg from 22 July to 17 August 2018.

She is also a lawyer and author of many publications in the field of International law and European Union law.

Her most recent publication is ” ‘Consideration of humanity’ in the Jurisprudence of ITLOS and UNCLOS Arbitral Tribunals” a chapter contributed to  “Interpretations of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea by International Courts and Tribunals” , published in 2019.
