The Environmental Radioactivity Laboratory of Universidade da Coruña (LRA-UDC), aware of the requirements, needs, and expectations of its stakeholders, has the necessary resources to maintain and continuously review a Quality Management System in accordance with the UNE-EN ISO 9001:2015 standard, in order to guarantee the quality of its services and achieve maximum stakeholder satisfaction.

The basic principles of our Quality Management System are as follows:

• Commitment to continuous improvement as a fundamental principle of action, based on prioritizing prevention over correction.
• Compliance with current legislation applicable to our activities, as well as the legal and regulatory requirements applicable to our products and the requirements imposed by our stakeholders.
• Offering services in accordance with client requirements, performing environmental radioactivity analyses with the quality they demand, and employing professional technical staff with the knowledge and experience necessary to master the analytical methods and the application of the Quality System.
• Establish effective controls over our suppliers regarding the quality of the product/service requested.
• Promote the continuous improvement of staff by scheduling training in areas relevant to their job. Furthermore, communication and active participation of all employees will be encouraged as a standard of conduct.

The LRA-UDC is in the process of accreditation with the National Accreditation Body (ENAC) in accordance with the criteria established in the UNE EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard, for the INSTALLATION OF ACTIVE TRACE AND CONTINUOUS DETECTORS AND MEASUREMENT OF EXPOSURE AND CONCENTRATION TO RADON IN THE INTERIOR AIR OF BUILDINGS.

Likewise, the LRA-UDC is in the process of being authorized by the Nuclear Safety Council as an External Personal Dosimetry service.
