The Environmental Radioactivity Laboratory is currently developing various research programs and technical activities, structured in two main areas: scientific research and application work.
The main research active lines include:
Radiological characterization of soils on the northern coast of Galicia, within the doctoral thesis projects framework.
Monitoring of environmental radiation, through the analysis and continuous monitoring of radioactivity levels in different matrices.
Studies aimed at improving radiation elimination and mitigation techniques, focused on process optimization and radiological impact reduction.
The laboratory also carries out applied activities and offers specialized services, including:
Environmental Radiological Surveillance Programs, in accordance with current regulations.
Dating of geological samples using radiometric techniques.
Analysis of radioactive contamination on ships and other facilities.
Technical support and specialized advice for analytical complementation of other laboratories and institutions.
