We encourage the submission of abstracts addressing the contemporary debate on Atlantic coastal territories from critical and interdisciplinary perspectives, particularly with regard to maritime heritage, coastal architecture and landscapes, and blue tourism. This call for papers is open to researchers at all career stages, as well as to professionals and academics from various Atlantic coast-related disciplines, especially architecture and tourism. These include, but are not limited to, architecture, urban planning, landscape architecture, tourism, sociology, history, geography, anthropology and communication.

Abstracts should be between 800 and 1,000 words long and align with one of the three congress themes:

- Architecture of Traditional Maritime Industries and Crafts

- Blue Tourism and Coastal Landscape

- The Atlantic as a Research Territory (Reciprocal Relationships)

Abstracts will be evaluated based on their relevance to the congress's thematic areas, taking into account originality, innovation, an interdisciplinary approach and methodological rigour. Evaluation will be conducted by the Scientific Committee through an anonymous peer-review process. Accepted abstracts will be presented in person during the conference and published in open access in the conference proceedings. Some contributions will be invited to develop a full article for publication in issue 16 (year 2026) of the BAC Boletín Académico Revista de Investigación y Arquitectura Contemporánea.

We recommend carefully reading the abstract submission guidelines and downloading the abstract templates. Submissions should be made via the following link by 15 March 2026.
