FAQ

For a solution, click on the  App UDC.gal tab on the IT support centre (AxudaTIC) main page.

The University Smart Card is now issued as a virtual card. Existing smart card users can obtain the new virtual card instantly by simply downloading the UDC.gal app on their mobile phone (Android - Iphone). For more information, see Create your smart card

1 - If the card reader is slow to respond or does not light up:

  • Ask the caretaker if the lock has been working properly for other users (the batteries in the lock may require changing).
  • If the lock is functioning, the chip in your card has probably come loose and the card will need to be changed. In this case, users should request a new card from their nearest issuing office (see ‘Plastic cards’ in the Create your card section).
Once the new card arrives, it may take several days for it to become active. If you require card-based access control immediately, contact the user support centre (CAU, ext. 2222) and ask them to synchronise your username.

2 - If the card reader responds with a red light and does not open the door, it means that you are not authorised to enter the area

  • Access is activated automatically for all people who work in the building. If you work in the building and do not have access, contact the administrative department responsible for processing your contract to check that the name of the faculty is stated correctly in their files.
  • If you need to access a different building, ask the Dean or Head of your faculty to request authorisation of your card from the user support centre (CAU).

If you have a technical problem with your card that is not covered by the information above, you should report it to the IT support centre using this link on the AxudaTIC main page.
