UDC is organising the international online event “Choose Coruña: Research Opportunities for Global Talent”, which will take place on 28 May 2026, from 15:00 to 17:00 h (CEST).
This session will serve as the final event of the STARS4UDC project and is aimed at international researchers interested in discovering the opportunities offered by UDC to develop a research career in an open, collaborative and internationally connected scientific environment.
The event will present UDC’s research ecosystem, with a particular focus on its main areas of expertise, research centres, and talent attraction and retention strategy. It will also provide an overview of key European, national and regional funding opportunities for different research career stages, including programmes such as MSCA, ERC, Ramón y Cajal, Juan de la Cierva and initiatives promoted by the Xunta de Galicia.
Participants will also learn about the support services available to international researchers at UDC, from the identification of funding opportunities and potential supervisors to proposal preparation, arrival support, administrative procedures and integration into the academic and local environment.
The event will also include a round table with researchers currently linked to UDC, who will share their real experiences of joining the university, settling in, and developing their research careers. Through this exchange, “Choose Coruña” aims to offer a practical and personal insight into UDC as a destination for international research talent: a place to research, connect and belong.
